Our Lady Help of Christian's Parish School, Wendouree, is a Catholic school of approximately 200 students, which services the needs of families in north-west Ballarat. Established in 1961 by the Sisters of Mercy, we are now run by lay staff.
We work together with families, so each uniquely gifted child can continue to grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually to achieve fullness of life. We are based upon the traditions of the Catholic faith and has a strong commitment to social justice. We provide stimulating, challenging and contemporary teaching strategies. We affirm and celebrate contributions, efforts and achievements. We strive to foster mutual respect, responsibility and service within our school community. We aim to promote justice and the dignity of everyone, in an atmosphere in which each child's natural creativity can emerge and where each child values God's gifts, particularly environmental sustainability. We support families in the care and education of their children, by creating opportunities for prayer and celebration, to nurture our relationship with God, our world and with others.
We maintain a safe, happy, innovative and engaging learning environment. As well as outstanding modern school facilities including up-to-date computer resources, large classrooms, contemporary library, excellent playgrounds, performing arts centre, indoor gymnasium, spacious ovals and, basketball courts, the greatest resources of the school are its people, tremendous teachers, wonderful children and supportive parents.
