The Catholic Education Ballarat (CEB) Wellbeing team can provide consultation, support and resources through Learning Diversity staff in our diocesean schools.
For students presenting with health conditions schools will request that parents or carers provide documented health information by a relevant health professional. A documented health support plan should be developed and signed by a treating physician. This will include common conditions such as: asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, encopresis, anaphylaxis.
Schools have access to governance and operation policies, guidelines and advice through both DOBCEL Policies and Procedures and the Victorian government School Policy and Advisory Library (PAL).
Therapy Services are available to students in Catholic schools who have a physical or multiple disabilities and who require physiotherapy and/or occupational therapy as an integral component of the educational program. These services are provided by Scope Victoria and can be accessed through Learning Diversity staff in our diocesean schools.
The Catholic Education Commission of Victoria CECV has formed a partnership with the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, to provide a service to schools for students with complex medical needs requiring specialised training. This training can be accessed through Learning Diversity staff in our diocesean schools.
