St Aloysius is small Catholic co-educational primary school in Redan, a suburb of Ballarat.
Established originally in 1876, the school moved to its present site in 1882. For the majority of time since foundation, the Loreto Sisters have staffed St Aloysius, providing a strong commitment to providing excellent educational opportunities to the children of the gold mining community. Now under the leadership of a lay principal, St Aloysius provides fully refurbished facilities in a modern and safe physical environment.
The school has a strong commitment to life-long learning, encouraging the student to take responsibility for their own learning through a contemporary and stimulating curriculum. The fostering of individual students to develop into happy and productive members of our community is of paramount importance to the school.
Encouraged by an active School Board and Parents and Friends Committee, the school nurtures and supports students to develop critical thinking skills, self-reliance, community action and strong interpersonal skills through a commitment to success and achievement across the curriculum.
