Today is World Teachers’ Day!
Today is World Teachers’ Day. It is a very special and important day for our DOBCEL community. 🍎
Our Executive Director, Tom Sexton would like to personally thank and congratulate the 1,700 teaching staff across the diocese – from the Murray to the sea – whether you’re working in one of our small rural schools, or a large regional setting.
“We particularly recognise our Catholic school teachers for the special opportunities you provide for all your students to achieve the fullness of life, in every sense of the word,” Executive Director, Tom Sexton said.

On behalf of the DOBCEL Board of Directors, I offer my heartfelt thanks and congratulations to the 1,700 teachers educating more than 18,500 students in the 63 Catholic schools across the Diocese of Ballarat.
As a former teacher and Principal, I know first-hand the heavy responsibility you carry to support and shape the futures of our children and young people amid the complexities of the modern world.
Please know that your dedication, skills, and professionalism are seen and appreciated by the DOBCEL Board of Directors.
We take our hats off to you today, and every day !
