St Patrick’s Primary School Koroit receives Capital Fund Grant

St Patrick’s Primary School Koroit is delighted to have received $1,635,000 as part of the 2019-20 Non-Government Schools Capital Fund last week.
The funds will be put to practical use for students and teachers with the development of two general purpose learning areas and a project space. The new spaces will be created from an existing library resource area which will be converted and refurbished.
The successful funding application is particularly welcome news for St Patrick’s PS principal Mr Mark Moloney as he prepares to retire at the end of the 2019 school year. New principal, Mr Nick Murrell, will take over the reins at the beginning of the 2020 school year and will oversee the project.
“This successful grant application is the result of the work of many people and will provide the school with first class learning and teaching facilities as we start a new decade. It will fund the first stage of our two stage Master Plan which was developed after consultation with the school community,” says Mr Moloney.
“While disappointed that I won’t be there to help realise the school’s vision for its physical amenities, the new principal, Nick Murrell will steer the project to a very successful outcome.”
Having recently completed its five yearly review, St Patrick’s PS is looking forward to entering its next exciting phase with a renewed focus on contemporary learning. The new facilities will be of great benefit to further enhance the school’s vibrant learning community.
The Non-Government Schools Capital Fund is part of the State Government’s $402 million commitment in the 2019-20 Budget to upgrade and build new non-government schools across Victoria.
