Diocesan Sponsorship for Study

Applications for Diocesan Sponsorship for 2025 are now open.

Sponsorship for Accreditation to teach Religious Education or lead in a Catholic school is fully funded.

For Primary teachers this sponsorship is funded through recurrent grants. For secondary teachers this sponsorship is funded through a professional development levy paid by each secondary school in the Diocese.

For other priority courses, sponsorship is provided on the basis of:

For Primary

  • 1/3 DOBCEL contribution
  • 1/3 School contribution and
  • 1/3 Participant contribution

For Secondary

  • 1/3 Participant contribution
  • 2/3 School contribution

Sponsorship is for the cost of unit fees and does not include student amenities fees.

Requirements

Usually, sponsorship for Masters’ courses, can only be provided to applicants who have their Accreditation to Teach and to Teach Religious Education or Lead in Catholic Schools in Victoria. (VCEA guidelines)
