Statement re Final Report of Royal Commission

Earlier today, the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse released the full and unredacted findings of Case Study No.28: Catholic Church authorities in Ballarat.

The Catholic education community in the Diocese of Ballarat acknowledges the significance of this time for the many victims and survivors of abuse who shared their stories during the Royal Commission.

It is also a time of significance for our diocesan education community.

At every level, Catholic schools continue their commitment to addressing the recommendations from the Royal Commission, repairing past wrongs, listening to and hearing survivors and doing everything possible to ensure a safer future for the children and young people now in our care.
