CEB Staff Member Jim Waight Awarded City of Ballarat’s 2026 Citizen of the Year
We are delighted to share that CEB staff member Jim Waight has been named the City of Ballarat’s 2026 Citizen of the Year 🎉👏 Pictured here with Juliana Addison MP, Jim was recognised for his extraordinary leadership and generosity through Jimmy’s Licorice Allsorts – the fundraising cycling team he founded after his own experience with cancer. Since 2020, the team has raised more than $303,000 for the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute, completed five Murray to Moyne Cycling Relays and ridden over 18,600 kilometres in support of regional cancer research. Our Lady Help of Christians School, Murtoa – Community Gathering
Earlier in the year, DOBCEL shared the difficult decision that Our Lady Help of Christians Primary School, Murtoa, will close at the end of the 2025 school year. As we move toward this transition, we also take time to honour the school’s proud 62-year history and the many staff, students, families, and parishioners who have shaped its story. On Sunday, 14 December, the community is invited to come together for “Remembering Our Lady’s”. The day will begin with Mass at St Mary’s Church, Murtoa, at 12:30pm, followed by lunch at the school from 1:30pm. The gathering will continue at the Railway Hotel, Murtoa, from 5:00pm, where meals will be available.…
