Canvas Online Professional Learning Platform Launched
Wednesday 16 June, 2021
Catholic Education Ballarat (CEB) is very proud to announce that our online professional learning platform is now open for school staff to access.
This is an excellent opportunity to deliver professional learning opportunities in new and exciting ways, in addition to our traditional face-to-face professional learning sessions that will continue as normal.
Over the last year, we have seen the value of having a variety of strategies to reach our students, and as of today, we can now provide you access to high-quality professional learning modules to complete at your own pace, accredited against VIT professional development requirements.
We are consciously starting small with this project and have enrolled everyone in two courses by default to demonstrate the simplicity and power of this new model of professional learning.
Welcome to Canvas is a fifteen-minute course designed to teach you the essentials of using the platform and provide you with the skills and understanding to participate and succeed in any online module thereafter.
Welcome to the Diocese is a two-hour self-paced course, created by our Religious Education team, to provide an excellent understanding of the history, structure and expectations of school staff working within any of our schools in the Ballarat Diocese.
At the beginning of term, we will open up our growing catalogue of professional learning modules across all curriculum areas. As new courses are introduced, we will share these with our schools in our news bulletins and through our connections to curriculum leaders in schools.
There will be ongoing support from CEB to ensure our teachers and principals are getting the most of the platform and providing plenty of feedback and insights around the content on offer.
We would encourage all staff to log in and take advantage of this great new resource and we look forward to consistently delivering new professional learning modules.
