Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education Limited (DOBCEL) schools are located within a diverse and geographically extensive diocese extending across Western Victoria, from the Murray River to the Southern Ocean. DOBCEL governs 56 parish schools, and 8 schools and colleges are governed by Religious Institutes or Ministerial Public Juridic Persons. As the administrative arm of DOBCEL, the role of Catholic Education Ballarat is to provide support, service and leadership to Catholic Primary and Secondary schools in the Diocese of Ballarat. We seek to engage with and influence the people who make a difference in schools. Our central purpose is to build capacity in Principals, Leaders, Teachers and Students to ensure the continuing development and growth of individuals.

Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator
We currently have a rare opportunity for a consultative and relationship focused Health and Safety practitioner to join the growing People and Development Team as the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Coordinator.
Reporting to the Manager: Human Resources and working in close partnership with key stakeholders, the OHS Coordinator is responsible for ensuring DOBCEL complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, the VRQA Minimum Standards for School Registration and other relevant legislation and statutory requirements.
This varied role also works closely with school principals as the first line of review, to ensure appropriate measures are in place to meet DOBCEL’s legal, regulatory and policy obligations and embed a culture of safety and risk management in all DOBCEL schools.
